From October 5 - 12, my solo exhibition REALIZE UTOPIA will take place at Qvartr Gallery in Hamburg Bahrenfeld. The exhibition will feature artworks that emerge from an urban architectural aesthetic. It addresses the challenges of sustainable building and encourages people to take their own action.
To kick off "Realize Utopia," a celebratory opening will be held on October 5, 2023, beginning at 7:00 pm.
EXHIBITION INTENTION
The exhibition addresses the challenges associated with sustainable construction. Profit-driven large-scale projects, technical implementation problems in detail and the need for a new aesthetic lead to a social task that must be solved now. A 180° turnaround in construction is urgently needed. This utopia consists, among other things, of a climate-neutral built environment and a consistent circular economy.
In the exhibition "Realize Utopia" the challenges on the way to sustainable building are understood as an opportunity for change. In various forms of presentation, the urban architectural aesthetics of today's built environment are taken up. The positive view that is created in the process encourages one's own action with the intention of changing something together.
IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INTENTION
There are plastic wall objects on display, created from materials left over from the construction process. In this way, the material was saved from disposal and transformed into art objects suitable for circularity. Large-format paintings (murals) on buildings convey the relevance of preserving building fabric and show the potential of existing buildings.
Digital artworks allow a fictional look at how architecture is viewed as one of the greatest levers we have to create a climate and socially just world.
In addition to the exhibition, authentic insights into my studio are possible. The exhibition program is rounded off by lectures with a corresponding building or architecture reference. In addition, 10% of the proceeds from the sold works will be donated to Architects for Future.
