IBUG Riesa

As part of the IBUG artfestival, I had the opportunity to engage with a listed industrial wasteland. The tall silos and factory buildings are visible from afar. The enormous potential of the area is picked up by the Urban Art Festival and made tangible through the artistic transformation. This also includes the new Elbland Kunsthalle which is now located in the former heating hall and makes a major contribution to cultural events in Riesa. For example, a concert by the Elbland Philharmonic Orchestra took place there on the large terrace. The mural is located directly below the terrace and picks up on the long edge of the Elbe. Other elements refer to the listed façade or the post-and-beam elements of the Kunsthalle.

It would be desirable for Riesa if this project motivates more people to see the vacancy as an opportunity and the city becomes a little more colorful.
