MURALS

KIOSK FRIEDENSALLEE

Between Wilhelminian-style facades and red brick buildings, the small kiosk in Hamburg-Ottensen blends into its surroundings with a geometric abstract mural. Colors and shapes are derived from the surrounding architecture—pink, blue, and gray tones of the old buildings meet the warm orange-brown of the brick facades.

The work sees itself as a transformation of the existing: it gives an everyday building a creative presence and points to the potential of art to create appreciation and new perspectives on existing structures. As a temporary intervention, the mural remains part of a lively dialogue between architecture, color, and the city.
